Monthly Message from Chad Fritz, President of PNSFA
September 2020

Dear Members,

I am excited to see many of you in a couple of few weeks at the PNSFA Annual Golf Tournament presented by Airgas. Our sponsors have been putting together some fun on-course promotions to help with some healthy competition – thanks to all of you who have really stepped up this year. We’ll be running tee times, with a number of physically distanced protocols but no doubt, it will be a fun day.

We still have some tee times available so be sure to reach out to Dani at [email protected] to register or sponsor or register on-line at www.pnsfa.org.
September is Membership Month!
Last fall Michael Moore and our staff put together a Member Feature campaign on LinkedIn. This year, in coordination with AISC’s Steel Day, we have kicked off the #OnePhotoOnePoeticCaption contest to promote our members, collaboration, creativity and competitive nature. We are looking forward to seeing your best project photos flooding LinkedIn.

Check out how to enter PNSFA's Member Campaign - #OnePhotoOnePoeticCaption Contest on our website and submit your entries before Monday, September 28.
September is Membership Month, Part 2!
Do you know any fabricators who are not members but should be? Are you working with a partner who has not yet joined? Let’s get them on board this month!

Dani can help you with any solicitation, call, follow up or nudge. Give her intel on your prospects or let her know if you need some info on a company and she will help us solidify their membership.

August 2020

Dear Members,

I hope everyone is getting some time to unwind during the summer or has some plans to do so in the coming weeks. I’m still adjusting to the impact of COVID-19 and the things that we have taken for granted in our business; it’s been great to get some golf in with a few of you, albeit with physical distancing, and personally it’s been a challenge to adapt to virtual sales meetings. I hear the same from a number of you and appreciate the camaraderie that we all share through our PNSFA membership.

I am excited about some of the work that PNSFA has in the hopper for the next few months.

For the first time, we have a presenting sponsor for the PNSFA Golf Tournament!

I want to send a huge Thank You to Arthur Schnitzer and Greg Woods at Airgas for stepping up as the presenting sponsor of the annual golf tournament. This is a big boost to our branding efforts and we are excited about the partnership opportunities being developed.

I also want to thank one of our Major Sponsors - Valmont Coatings/Pacific States Galvanizing for sponsoring the Golf Carts.

Thanks to our Course Sponsors: Farwest SteelAmerican Steel/Lampros SteelMadlyn Metal Fab, Brown & Brown Northwest Insurance, The Lynch Company and Vest, Inc.

Get Registered for the Golf Tournament and Become a Sponsor too!

You can register for your players and buy your sponsorship on line. Due to COVID, we are switching gears and planning for tee times but hoping (mightily!) that by September we can go back to a shot gun format. I know the format is important and a bit different, but we are working on fun ways to keep everyone connected and engaged. We will keep you posted as we progress through the planning.

If you have any questions, need help registering or want to talk through a sponsorship or marketing idea, reach out to Dani at [email protected].

Resource Guide Updates

We are really excited about the updated Resource Guide. One of the benefits of it currently being digital (because of the pandemic) is our ability to make edits and update content with more regularity. If you notice any final edits on your profile or anyone who is not listed (which means they are not a member), please let Brittany know at [email protected] by Thursday, August 6. This will be the last set of edits until the fall when we will have some new content and a review of certifications.

September is Membership Month!

In the spirit of AISC’s Steel Day – September 25 – we want to dedicate September to Membership Month. Instead of focusing on an event on the 25th, we want to spend some time diving into opportunities to help us make PNSFA stronger.

Do you know anyone who is not a member but should be? Help us get them involved. We are hoping to bring in five new Fabricator members and associate partners – by September 30. We know the value of PNSFA but not everyone is familiar with us.

If you have anyone top of mind that we should talk with, or if you need more information about how to pitch membership please let Dani know. Aside from our personal calls, emails and e-intros, our best tool to promote PNSFA is LinkedIn.

Speaking of LinkedIn

Our LinkedIn Fall photo campaign is coming back, with a new and creative twist. Start looking for your best project photo to be featured on PNSFA’s LinkedIn and stay tuned for more details this month.

July 2020

Dear Members,

2020 has brought a lot of new business challenges and industry changes and undoubtedly they affect PNSFA. The good news is that PNSFA is evolving to address the current environment and we wanted to share what we have been working on.

Your PNSFA Resource Guide is going digital!

This spring, the board worked to refresh and update the PNSFA Resource Guide. Later today, the Resource Guide will be released in a digital format. Due to work from home initiatives we will hold on a print production until later in the year.

As a result of rethinking the guide and its purpose, we have some new opportunities. To keep the Guide more nimble and current, we will regularly update the certification matrix to ensure a more accurate reflection of your businesses. We will promote the guide with a digital marketing campaign on Linked In to showcase our membership value and our advertisers with a little more frequency. In the coming months we will be working on additional outreach efforts to make sure we are getting this information out to all of the right people.

The PNSFA Annual Golf Tournament has been moved to Thursday, September 17.

After a lot of thought and membership feedback, the 2020 PNSFA Golf Tournament will be held on Thursday, September 17 at Camas Meadows. Registration and sponsorship are now available on line and we expect to have a fun event with responsible physical distancing. We will produce a scramble format with some logistical changes due to new precautions, but we will have some fun new activities and build sponsorship packages that allow for marketing longevity at the course and beyond.

If you would like to sponsor the tournament and have questions, reach out to Dani by call or text at 503.956.1008.

The Annual Conference in Coeur d’Alene has been postponed to 2021.

The complications and health risks of producing a conference with significant geographic reach became difficult to overcome so we have decided to postpone the Annual Conference to Coeur d’Alene, September 22 – 24, 2021.

Mark your calendars! We are excited to take our conference to this new location within our membership region next year, and we look forward to bringing great speakers and content (along with some world-class golf).
